Charter for NISTI Forum

Introduction

• The NISTI FORUM is a platform to be established in middle order HEI within NCR to deliver knowledge enhancement and industrial exposure services to students

• NISTI will undertake activities to promote development of knowledge, industry interface, exposure to professional practices related to textile and fashion domain

Eligibility

• Students in the final year of UG/PG programmes in the textile and fashion domain are eligible to enroll as participants in the forum

Charter

The Forum will engage NISTI member experts to

• Deliver quarterly one lecture on specialist topics/themes beyond the taught curriculum

• Organize / facilitate industry visit once in 6 months to high performing enterprises in the textile and fashion domain for Forum participants’ exposure to industry and their systems and practices Such field visits will be limited to NCR area and students will bear the cost of transport to/fro from college to enterprise and back

• Organise/facilitate one exposure visit to quality testing enterprises within NCR with costs of transportation being borne by students in the manner described above

• Provide counselling to interested students who choose to take up final work in specialized areas. Students will meet Counsellors at the preferred address of the NISTI member expert

• During field visits to manufacturing and quality testing enterprises one faculty of the department/College shall accompany the students to ensure that discipline is maintained. Accompanying faculty and NISTI member will not bear to/fro transportation cost

• One student will be selected by the participants of the Forum as Student Coordinator

• A NISTI member will supervise the Forum and identify from among NISTI members the ones to be engaged for delivery of the above services

• A NISTI member will oversee the operations of all the Fora established by NISTI in the NCR.

• One faculty from the participating college will act as liaison between the NISTI supervisor and the head of department from which students are drawn
